Strengthened With Power

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith… Ephesians 3:16-17

In this human experience, it is fairly common for people  to be limited in their resources. If believers aren’t careful, this can trickle into their relationship with God and the way they pray and relate to him. Sometimes unknowingly, believers can act like God has limited resources, when truly he has unlimited glorious riches. God’s riches are not only monetary. His riches also consist of his power and ability to transform, sustain and provide everything needed for the emotional, mental, physical and spiritual aspects of life. 

Notice how the strength Paul prays for believers to be filled with flows out of God’s glorious riches and from God’s Spirit. Clearly, he sees that there is no other source of true power, strength and riches that can satisfy and fill the innermost being other than those that come from the Living God. Have you been searching anywhere else to have your innermost being filled with power and strength?

The result of being strengthened in your inner being with God’s power is that your faith grows stronger and your relationship with Christ becomes more intimate, personal and rich. As Christ dwells in your heart, the more you experience the joy of being his resting place, and the more your heart is transformed to look like him. 

We encourage you not to overlook praying for God’s power to fill your innermost being. We urge you not to settle for where you are, but keep pressing in to be filled with all of God’s glorious riches. As you do this, you can experience a greater relationship with Christ, reflect him more clearly to others as he dwells in you and glorify God through your life.
