Staying Focused On Him

godly perspectives intimacy with god

Many unnecessary troubles and difficulties come to believers who are distracted in their thinking and are no longer alert with their minds focused upon the Lord. The scriptures call believers to fix their eyes on Jesus, stand firm in the faith and think about what is good, right and true. (Hebrews 12:2, 1 Corinthians 16:13, Philippians 4:8)

As you step out in obedience and faith, God’s grace will meet your faith and bring his empowering strength to keep you living in God’s joy and peace with overflowing hope through all of life’s hills and valleys.

Truly, there exists no problem in the universe that should cause any believer to shift their eyes away from the answer, Jesus - who he is and what he’s done. When you seek to know his heart and mind, and choose to actively put your faith in him, that is how you can overcome every circumstance of life.

…Everyone born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith. 1 John 5:4

The enemy has a way of trying to steal your focus away from God and cause you to live for yourself, that’s why Paul says, “I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 11:3

Where the serpent tries to deceive, the Holy Spirit leads and guides into all truth. We encourage you to surrender anything and everything that has been trying to hinder your devotion to Christ and completely offer yourself to the Lord afresh.

We are praying and believing that even as you read these words, God will move powerfully in your life to drastically increase your love for Jesus, as you receive his love for you. May you be strengthened in your perspective of finding everything in Jesus so that you also will join the apostle Paul in declaring,

“Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ.”

Philippians 3:8
