Remember What He's Done

apostolic prayers

He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13-14

Paul closes up his prayer with a declaration of truth and a powerful reminder of  what God has done for those who believe in Christ. The goodness of God’s heart is demonstrated by transferring all those who believe in Him out of the domain of darkness. If he would not have done this, everyone would have lived in darkness their whole life and never even known it was darkness. Because of the great love that he has for all of us, he did not want us to live under Satan’s dominion, but brought us out and into his kingdom of light where Jesus is the Lord and King.

In Christ, he redeems believers back to himself and restores them to their original value and identity. Through the finished work of the cross, he has forgiven and removed every wrong from those who put their trust in him.

Take a moment and think about the love, mercy and goodness of God. According to his own will, he did this incredible work.

No believer wants to intentionally move past how powerful these truths are, but it can happen. Jesus gave the Church the Lord’s Supper/Communion as a way to remember him. Also, the scripture clearly calls believers to constantly fix their eyes on Jesus and live in his love demonstrated through his sacrifice on the cross.

We encourage you to fellowship intimately with God around what he has done and never allow yourself to move past how powerful these truths are. Continue to build your house on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ and how he has given redemption and forgiveness.
