Seeing The Contrast

godly perspectives

God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:8

We’re sharing this specific blog with you so  the importance of seeing the gold in others can be enhanced, through the lens of contrast. There are many different problems that can result from not seeing the gold inside of others…

We won’t be giving an exhaustive list. However, in no particular order, we are giving three different problems that can arise if one isn’t growing more and more in seeing with God’s eyes.

When believers don’t see other people through God’s perspective, they will be stifled in unconditionally loving others the way Christ called. If a believer’s love toward someone else is based solely off of that individual’s actions, then it will result in a more conditional love. How the other person treats the believer can directly connect to how the believer sees the other person. This is obviously not how Christ saw and treated us.

Since this is not the way Jesus lived, if believers walk in this way, they may very well misrepresent Jesus to others while carrying his name. Along with that, they may not be able to extend the kindness and grace that the other individual needs to help them change. As Scripture says, “God’s kindness leads you to repentance…” (Romans 2:4)

Whenever one doesn’t see the gold in others, it’s much easier for that person to fall into a tendency to be critical. If this perspective isn’t corrected and redirected, the believer can potentially fall into a pride that causes them to only sees the wrongs in others, instead of seeing the good. As a result, they may be blinded and lose the heart of compassion and prayer toward others. It also can lead to a cycle that produces more conditional love, more misrepresentation of Christ and more criticism and pride.

If you are continually struggling with any of these things, we encourage you to not be condemned! Rather, don’t let another day go by without addressing this in your heart. You can confess out how you’ve been living to the Lord, change your mind and receive his forgiveness and grace to help you move forward.
