Now To Him Who Is Able

apostolic prayers

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21

Paul brings this prayer to a close with a beautiful declaration of  God’s power and ability. He brings the focus to God and gives him the glory and honor through Christ and the church for all generations. What a joy and privilege that as the church of Christ we can bring God glory and honor!

This prayer serves as a reminder and encouragement to all our hearts that God’s power is at work within us who believe. Sometimes believers fall into putting limitations on God, yet, God is able to do infinitely beyond all of our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes and dreams.

Whenever you are tempted to question if you will be able to fulfill God’s purpose for your life, remember that his power is at work in you and can strengthen you to fulfill all he has called you to do.

This prayer also serves as an example that every believers prayer life should not only consist of asking God for what they need, but also should be filled with praise to God for who he is and what he has done.
