Lack No Good Thing

godly perspectives

The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. Psalm 34:10

When thinking about the opposite of what lack is, the word abundance comes to mind. When we can get out of the mindset of lack, we  can begin to walk more in the abundant life Jesus spoke of.

Picture Moses leading a nation of people through the wilderness. A nation of men, women and children that needed to be fed and kept alive. Moses was surrounded with grumbling and complaining that was resulting from the people struggling with lack in their hearts. In the natural, these Israelites had “good reasons” to feel this lack, but Moses had an intimate relationship with a supernatural God, and that gave him an even greater reason not to lack, but to have faith.

What if Moses would have only seen the lack of a pathway when he approached the Red Sea? What if he would have only seen the hot and dry desert when everyone was crying for food and water?

Moses chose to seek the Lord and stand on his promises even during those difficult times. God’s faithfulness never ceased. Like the scripture says above, the one who seeks the Lord will lack no good thing.

As simple as this may sound, it’s important to diligently seek out and pursue an intimate relationship with God through Jesus. He is worthy of us making every day count for him and not letting our natural tendencies dictate the course of life. As children of God, the Holy Spirit should lead our lives, and by God’s grace he is able!

Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Luke 12:32
