Intentional Living - Part 3

godly perspectives

I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
– Jesus (Jn 15:5)

We want to get practical and talk to you about the importance of abiding in Jesus daily and experiencing real intimacy in your walk with God. If you develop this in your relationship with Christ, you will not be “going through the motions”. You will be deeply touched by the love of God and daily transformed by the power of his Spirit to walk in freedom.

Here are a few practical things you can think through…

Commit in your heart to pursue a life of deep relationship with God. (Jn. 17:3)

Example Prayer:

“God, I thank you that you desire a deep relationship with me and that’s what you created me for. I commit to pursuing that with all my heart from this day forward. Thank you that I can trust in you to empower me and I don’t have to do it in my own strength.”

  • Moment by moment be intentional to take your energy and time to receive his love and from that place you’ll fall more in love with him.  (1 Jn. 4:16, 19)

  • Invite God to transform your mind so that you think with his perspective. (Phil. 2:5, Rom. 12:2)

  • Dwell throughout the day on what God has done for you by sending Jesus; he removed your sins, restored your relationship, gave you righteousness in the sight of God, etc. (Ps. 9:1, Lk. 19:10, 2 Cor. 5:21)

  • Be thankful and prayerful throughout the day and earnestly seek God for what those things mean for you. (1 Thess. 5:17, Eph. 5:10, Ps. 25:4-5)

  • Begin to prayerfully fellowship with him around the truth he reveals. (1 Jn. 1:3)

What would be different if you had a deeper level of intimacy with Jesus?
