Growing In God's Eyes

godly perspectives

In the last couple blogs, we’ve shared about what it means to see the gold in others as well as problems that can arise when one doesn’t. In this blog and the next, we will share a few practical ways of how to grow in seeing the gold in others.

One personal way we’ve experienced powerful breakthrough in this area is through surrendering to the Lord, along with inviting and allowing him to renew our mindset. This is so important because the way we all think impacts us in more ways than we know. Certainly, this is one reason scripture teaches to, “be renewed in the spirit of your mind”, “be transformed by the renewing of your mind” and “set your mind on things above”. (Ephesians 4:23, Romans 12:2, Colossians 3:2)

The Lord has helped us personally renew our mindset through looking at Jesus’s life, gleaning from his perspective and motive and honoring him as Lord. It’s “naturally” easy for people to learn how to live from others around them, and to allow life to be their teacher, but Jesus says, “learn from me”, “follow me” and “you have one teacher, the Christ.” (Matthew 11:29, John 12:26, Matthew 23:10)

We know of no better way to grow in this truth, except through prayer, fellowship and communion with God. We encourage you to take time with the Lord and surrender any way you may be thinking about yourself or others that is not from God. In that place of surrender and fellowship, you can seek God’s help to renew your mind.

May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:23
